To enter into a deed of variation with Bromford Housing Association to vary the lease (dated 3 June 2013) between AVDC and the Association for Griffin Place, Aylesbury.

Reasons for the decision:

Aylesbury Vale District Council is the freehold owner of Griffin Place which it has leased to Bromford Housing Association for a term of 57 years from 3 June 2013.  The premises includes temporary accommodation units which the council uses to perform its statutory duties in relation to homelessness and also a further number of long stay units which clients could access via a number of stakeholders. The housing association and agreed to enter into a deed of variation to the lease so that the council can secure nomination rights to all of the residential units (including the long stay units)  This ensures that the council has control over occupancy and can more efficiently use the accommodation for clients in the most need.

There is a consideration of £1,500 payable to Bromford which will secure the revised nomination rights which will be funded from the affordable housing capital fund or an alternative housing budget.   Each side will bear its own legal costs.
